Winter "Lights"

Coat - Wilfred |  Sweater -  Oak + Fort | Jeans - Unif | Sneakers - Vans
Necklaces - Lisbeth Jewelry

Oh hello ! So remember when I said I was slowly transitioning my closet to lighter shades? Well, I'm going to tell you why … it really isn't a glamorous reason, but sometimes sharing TMI just needs to happen.

So I when I was a baby I had eczema, which started to reappear a couple years ago. It was manageable (…mostly), but this year it has become a real nuisance and an actual pain (physically and emotionally). It has become very difficult and really embarrassing to wear black because of the unavoidable flaky consequences of dry skin! Thankfully it doesn't show up much in pictures, but it really has become a continuous source of discomfort in my life.

Especially in the winter when 99% of my wardrobe is black or navy, I have had to make strategic changes to keep this eczema thing under control. Through being even more conscious with my wardrobe choices, skincare AND nutrition choices (all of which I'll be sharing soon!!). Wardrobe-wise, its been fun exploring lighter shades especially in the winter - so I hope you'll all try it out with me :)

Starting out with a simple relaxed outfit like the one above.

If you follow me in Instagram, you no doubt have seen this sweater…because I'm actually obsessed and haven't taken it off since getting it on Black Friday (PSSSTTT… its still on sale! - link above)! I mean, its got wool and alpaca in it, but its still soft enough to not irritate my sensitive skin, plus its a LIGHT grey!

Okay, but really, the key piece to this outfit is the Wilfred coat!! The collar, the colour, and the cashmere/virgin wool mixture is just perfection. Especially with this year's warmer winter, this jacket is the perfect piece to lighten up my winter-wardrobe.

So yes… I'm thinking lots of light greys, creams, and whites!
